Nonfinite verb
Jean Pascal
NONFINITE is a term used in contrast with FINITE in the classification of verbs, verb phrases, and clauses. NONFINITE verbs are marked with a non-tensed suffix in English (reading, awoken, to make) or a non-tensed, non-person, and subordinating suffix in Turkish (gelince, gelerek, çalışmak, okunacak). In English, all verb forms are FINITE except infinitives and participles. In Turkish, all verb forms are FINITE except verbals (action nominals, participles, and converbs).
